ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - Experts of "Harvard Medical
International" on Wednesday wrapped up their three-day visit to
Croatia's Health Ministry, public health institutions and the
Zagreb-based faculty of medicine.
Today they held a news conference to inform the public about their
impressions and an insight they gained in the Croatian public
health system.
The purpose of our visit is to recommend strategies in the public
health reform so that the national health and medical services may
be enhanced and the education of doctors improved, said the
association's head, Dr. Robert K. Crone.
"Harvard Medical International", which is a non-profit-making
organisation set up by Harvard's Medical School in 1994, offers its
services to foreign medical schools and hospitals in a bid to help
improve health care.
It was assessed that the reform in the Croatian public health would
take five years. In the coming six months, priorities will be
defined.
Croatian Health Minister Ana Stavljenic Rukavina said the reform
would be successful only if all doctors were ready to face changes
and invest joint efforts in the future.
