Police earlier officially said Milosevic would be arrested when "estimates of the arrest" showed that it could be carried out without serious consequences. Belgrade-based daily Politika says in today's issue Milosevic's arrest was prevented by the Yugoslav Armed Forces Chief-Of-Staff, General Nebojsa Pavkovic. Yugoslav Interior Minister Zoran Zivkovic confirmed this in a statement to a foreign radio station. The Serbian government has convened a session for 11.00 hours when an official statement surrounding the attempts to arrest Milosevic will be released. (hina) ha
