yesterday's comment in the central news broadcast on the testimony
of General Petar Stipetic before the Hague tribunal's
investigators," the Government's public relations office said in a
statement today.
"The comment by the Croatian Television reporter - saying that
'news has leaked from well-informed sources that Croatian
officials and Carla del Ponte agreed at a recent meeting that
Stipetic be left to the Hague investigators as a compensation for
the Norac case' - is an inadmissible imputation directed against

The Government further states that the comment has caused damage to
its efforts to protect the dignity of the Homeland War and to
General Stipetic and requests that the editor-in-chief and the
author of the comment publicly apologise to Stipetic.
"We strongly condemn such misinforming of the citizens and it
concerns us that such conduct prevents Croatian Television from
operating as a public institution," the statement says.
