ANKARA, March 27 (Hina) - Over the last 16 days, more than 7,650 persons from Macedonia arrived in Turkey, it was officially reported in Ankara on Tuesday. The majority of them are Albanians, accommodated in the houses of relatives
and friends across Turkey. Some were transferred to the Gaziosmanpasa refugee camp, near the Turkish-Bulgarian border. The refugees said they had to leave Macedonia due to the pressure by the Macedonian authorities. "One can be sure that people are not leaving their homes for no reason," a refugees told a local television network. He also expressed hope that Croatian President Stipe Mesic would use his great mediation authority to help the calming of the current ethnic tensions and conflicts in Macedonia. Governor of the Kirklareli province Ali Serindag said there was room for 12,500 refugees in the camp. Several dozen "forgotten" refugees from Bosnia-Herzegovina are still accommodated in the camp
