ZAGREB, March 26 (Hina) - Zdravko Senicnjak, a former Croatian
Interior Ministry official, claims that "organised crime has its

organised crime.
Senicnjak was replaced without any explanation as Zagreb police
superintendent by senior Interior Ministry official Ranko Ostojic
on Saturday. The replacement came two days after a mob showdown in
downtown Zagreb.
Senicnjak told today's newspapers "there are attempts to stop any
police activity aimed at shedding light on organised crime." "It
was possible to reach the top, everybody knew which operations were
underway, including the State Prosecutor, the Justice Minister and
the Interior Minister... and they informed the Prime Minister about
everything. It is known rather well who stands behind everything,"
he said.
According to Senicnjak, some parts of secret services were working
on shedding light on all forms of crime, including organised crime,
but certain highly-positioned people in some services were part of
the crime scene.
"My struggle is in vain, organised crime is stronger. If there were
true will, something could be done, but I have realised now very
clearly that there is no political will," Senicnjak said.
