MOSTAR, March 23 (Hina) - The cantonal court in Bosnia's Herzegovina-Neretva Canton on Friday acquitted three Bosniaks from Mostar of war crimes against Croat civilians. Dervo Dziho, Refik Tule, and Kasim Colic were charged with
crimes committed in the Mostar suburb of Gnojnica in 1993, at the time of Croat-Muslim conflicts. Reading the acquittal, judicial council president Nurko Pobric said the evidence failed to confirm allegations made in the indictment to the effect that the three Bosniaks had abused Croat civilians. The trial of the three men began in February. The acquittal is the first to be passed by a Bosnian court to war crimes suspects whose trials in Bosnia have been approved by UN's war crimes tribunal in The Hague. Next week, another 13 Bosniaks accused of war crimes over Croats from 1993 will be put on trial.(hina) ha
