SARAJEVO, March 20 (Hina) - All professional employees with the Army of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina are are given a five-day-long deadline during which they should come back to their regular posts and thus express loyalty to
the newly-elected authorities, said Mijo Anic, the defence minister of the Croat-Moslem Federation. "The adequate sanctions, i.e. the termination of the employment contract, will be imposed on all who fail to respect the deadline," Anic said at a news conference in Sarajevo on Tuesday. This also refers to a group of 15 high-ranking officers in the federal army's Croat component, who have recently refused the appointment of the new deputy commander, General Ivo Lozancic, who is at the helm of the said component (the Croat Defence Council of HVO). At the joint news conference Anic and Lozancic said the set-up of

authorities and the international community would not let it
happen.
Anic and Lozancic added that they were aware of the objective state
of affairs and expressed readiness to treat in a tolerant manner all
the HVO members.
"We know that many of them are exposed to great pressure," Minister
Anic explained.
According to the information available to the federal defence
ministry, different agitator, many of who were a part of former
command structures inside the defence ministry and the joint
command, are touring units and trying to persuade soldiers and
officers to show disobedience to the legal authorities and align
themselves with the Croatian National Assembly (led by the Croatian
Democratic Union of Bosnia- Herzegovina or HDZ BiH).
