ZAGREB ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT CONDEMNS TODAY'S EXPLOSION

ZAGREB, March 16 (Hina) - Friday's explosion points to the existence of criminals and terrorists who are ready to take terrorist activities in order to realise their goals, president of the Zagreb City Assembly Goran Hill said in a statement issued on the occasion of planting a bomb near the Zagreb authorities' building. A car exploded at around 09.30 hours Friday on the Zagreb authorities parking lot, and the fire spread to other vehicles on the parking lot. The explosion was caused by a bomb of an unknown origin, planted in a container, head of the Zagreb police Ranko Ostojic told reported on the scene. Hill said this was an act of terrorism and insanity and fortunately no human lives were lost. This was "the act of cowards from the dark aiming at implementing fear and insecurity among the citizens and creating psychotic atmosphere, violence and disorder". He said it was necessary to take all measures to find the perpetrators of this terrorist act.
