Asked about moot points in the political part of the agreement, a European Commission representative in charge for Southeast Europe, David Daly, said the details were not particularly contentious, adding one clause confirmed Croatia's status as a potential candidate for full membership in the EU. Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula also visited Brussels Tuesday to speak with representatives of the EU Troika and the European Parliament within the framework of political dialogue. The European Union gave support to the Croatian government's European orientation, stressing it counted on Croatia as a serious partner in stabilising Europe's south-east. (hina) lml sb
