ZAGREB, Jan 23 (Hina) - After nine years in disuse, the Una Railway will be opened for transport on Friday, Jan. 26, with a promotional ride from Zagreb to Knin in southern Croatia, Transport Minister Alojz Tusek said on Tuesday. The
line along the Una river, which separates Croatia and Bosnia, will only be used for cargo transport until a summer timetable is set. Passenger transport will be fully established by summer. Since the railway has not been electrified entirely, transport will be conducted by diesel, about six hours per day. During Friday's ride, a special Croatia-Bosnia railway transport agreement could be signed which, according to Assistant Transport Minister Nikola Kancijan, should regulate border and customs inspection and envisages only one joint border stop at Martin Brod.
