ZAGREB ZAGREB, Jan 22 (Hina) - A four-day international seminar on military contacts and programmes of military cooperation in Southeast Europe began in Zagreb on Monday. Organised by the Regional Arms Control Verification and
Implementation Assistance Centre (RACVIAC), the seminar is attended by eminent foreign politicians, diplomats, military envoys and senior military officers from 12 countries participating in the RACVIAC project. The seminar was opened by the German Ambassador to Croatia, Gebhart Weiss, whose country initiated the project. Croatia accepted the German government's initiative at a February 2000 Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe conference in Sarajevo. According to Lt. Col. Nikola Nogolica, the project's director, the participants in the seminar will exchange opinions and experience on military contacts and cooperation which are the foundation of peace and stability in the region.
