ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - A Croatian parliamentary vice-president,
Zdravko Tomac, on Wednesday forwarded an open letter to the
Croatian public in which he states that certain media incorrectly
and maliciously edited and falsified his statements about former
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman's policy towards Bosnia, which
he uttered at a recent symposium. #L#
Tomac said that he had stated that even today, the Croat national
issue in Bosnia was not solved, that historical processes were not
completed, and that, depending on the course of history, the future
would judge about how and who had been correct in 1992 disputes on
Bosnia.
Tomac claims he did not state that Tudjman was right in this dispute
and that because of such misinterpretations, a "media lynch" has
begun against him.
"A silent review of the Dayton Agreement without any formal changes
to the agreement is underway. Whether we wish to admit it or not,
historical processes are turning Croats in both (Bosnian) entities
into a national minority. In Republika Srpska they are a national
minority, and are becoming increasingly so in the Bosnian
Federation," Tomac's letter reads.
"Turning a blind eye to problems of the Croat people in Bosnia can
also have catastrophic consequences, not only for Bosnian Croats,
but for the entire Croatian people. This is why I shall fight
against Croatian silence and the bowing of heads because of
aggressive critics who are afraid of opening the Croat national
issue in Bosnia, and who see Bosnia's stability in compromises to
the detriment of the Croat people," says the letter.
