Apart from changing the organisation of and establishing the
optimal number of employees in the state administration, the reform
should also change employees' rights and obligations, particularly
their education, salaries, selection of senior personnel, etc.
The government has appointed Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic co-
ordinator of preparations for the reform.
Prime Minister Ivica Racan today also announced a new law on the
government, which he said should be adopted before the next
election so that the future government could be constituted in line
with the new law.
