The conference, organised by the Croatian Finance Ministry,
revolved around the enhancement of the functioning of the public
financing system.
Croatia is leading among south-eastern and central European
countries in transition regarding the degree of the composition of
the state treasury, Croatia's Chief Treasurer Vesna Vasicek said at
a news conference after the event.
She added that the International Monetary Fund had this year
positively assessed Croatia's system of the state treasury.
We are working on making the budget more transparent as to inform
the public about where the money collected from tax payers is being
spent, she said.
Vasicek added that Croatia was developing a model of local
treasuries, as the aim of this system was to connect end users to the
network.
