The Committee has voiced concern about indictments being issued
against the most successful Croatian Army (HV) commanders. This is
as if to say that the HV, in moments of victory, or exactly because
of it, was a criminal army, and that those who successfully
commanded battles that were crucial for Croatia's survival are
because of that very fact the most responsible, reads a Committee
statement.
The Committee will establish a department for collecting and
publishing documents concerning civilian war victims, the
suffering of children, missing persons, and Serb-run prison
camps.
The Committee session, which was held under the chairmanship of
academician Ivo Padovan, was attended by nine representatives of
political parties, 16 Homeland War associations, the Croatian
Academy of Arts and Sciences (HAZU), Matica Hrvatska, and non-party
persons.
