The spokesman for OSCE in Bosnia, Phillip Henning, stated that the
new government in Herzegovina-Neretva Canton would be faced with
threats of financial bankruptcy, as he said.
According to sources in canton government bodies about 20 million
euros is lacking to settle debts towards budget users. Of the ten
cantons in the Bosnia-Herzegovina Federation, the Herzegovina-
Neretva Canton is the largest and so there is fear that should it go
bankrupt this could cause a social crisis that could have negative
effects on other areas of the Federation.
