DUBROVNIK, Oct 4 (Hina) - The leader of the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP), Anto Djapic, said on Friday that "Stipe Mesic's testimony in The Hague was constantly oscillating and (he) was only to some extent up to the task, showing all the inconsistency of his own political career".
#L# Speaking to reporters in Dubrovnik, Djapic said Mesic's testimony was very damaging to Croatia's international position and was more helpful than detrimental to Slobodan Milosevic. Commenting on "the general Bobetko case", Djapic described as positive moves made by the government, which he said should not adopt any decision without consultation with the parliament. And, the parliament had to act responsibly, he added. Djapic believes that Croatia is not exposed to any threat of sanctions, nor could sanctions be imposed given that its economy was mostly in the hands of foreign companies. The HSP leader also commented on tomorrow's elections in Bosnia- Herzegovina, saying that they were being totally ignored by the Croatian media, while foreign interests were hugely present. "The Croat people is left in the cross-fire of foreign interests which are aimed at reducing it to a minority in Bosnia- Herzegovina," Djapic said. (hina) rml sb
