The SDP believes that a part of Klaric's report referring to state
institutions, primarily ministries, turning a deaf ear to
questions posed by the Ombudsman, was contentious.
Nenad Stazic, on behalf of the SDP, harshly criticised Klaric
because, as Stazic said, after the government voiced its opinion it
was shown that Klaric's report did not comply with the true
situation.
Stazic claimed that Klaric was deceiving the parliament and public
by deliberately reporting untruths.
He added that Klaric's claim that not one conclusion by the
parliament relating to the Ombudsman was implemented by the
Executive authorities in the past ten years, was incorrect. Stazic
based his assessment on the government's report.
Speaking on behalf of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Vladimir
Seks reminded that before coming into power the SDP applauded
Klaric's political assessments which they considered to be
impermissible political assessments and transgressing
jurisdiction during the HDZ rule.
In his closing, Klaric objected that he was being denied the right
to present general assessments of the situation in the country.
He pointed out that the general picture in certain areas of life and
layers of society in Croatia were alarming. He particularly
criticised the apathy, inertia and enormous executive authorities
with a bureaucratic mentality in behaviour.
The parliament will vote on the Ombudsman's additional report on
Thursday.
