PLOCE MARKS TOWN DAY

PLOCE, Sept 14 (Hina) - The southern Adriatic town of Ploce on Saturday marked its Town Day and the 11th anniversary of the "Green Board - Male Bare" military operation. #L# A wreath was laid and candles lit in memory of all those killed during the Homeland War. Major General Petar Stimac recalled that a large amount of weapons, ammunition and other equipment had been confiscated from a warehouse of the former Yugoslav army, which was afterwards used for the defence of Sibenik, Sinj, Zadar, Vukovar, Dubrovnik and other Croatian towns. At the same time, in the sea of Ploce Harbour, the crews of two towboats, a ferry and a floating crane, chased out the armed war ships of the then Yugoslav navy. (hina) lml
