The Catholic faithful have been gathering in Ludbreg, northern
Croatia, since a miraculous event took place there 500 years ago.
In 1994 the Croatian parliament acted on a vow from 1739, which
envisaged the building of a chapel to protect people from the
plague.
Today's mass was held under the auspices of the Croatian
parliament. Its vice president Ivica Kostovic addressed the
faithful.
In attendance were also many people from Bosnia-Herzegovina and
Slovenia.
