Last year the award was given to Pope John Paul II, the agency
pointed out.
With this award, Cardinal Puljic will be granted 100,000 euros
which he has earmarked for the reconstruction of the Travnik
education centre which was built in the late 19th century but was
closed down during the communist era.
The centre encompasses a primary school, a grammar school and an
institute for its pupils, and an inter-diocesan boys' seminary, KTA
notes.
The Travnik Education Centre and grammar school are considered one
of the main centres whence exceptional Bosnian intellectuals and
high ranking Catholic dignitaries have emerged.
