Thirty-four workers were injured in the fire, which caused huge
damage, estimated at EUR15-50 million.
The cause of the damage at the Kosovo B power plant in Obilic near
Pristina was lightning, the police said, excluding the possibility
of sabotage.
The UN civil administrator in Kosovo, Michael Steiner, and Prime
Minister Bajram Rexhepi said today that power supply was much
better than thought immediately after the fire. They, however,
called on citizens to save electricity to help overcome the Kosovo
power crisis.
