The seven have spent the past ten months in custody while the first
accused - the then commander of the Lora jail - is still on the run.
Deputy county state prosecutor Michelle Squiccimaro signed the
appeal and told journalists that he expected the Supreme Court to
make its decision quickly as there were still reasons for the
accused to be detained in custody and their detention extended.
The county state prosecutor proposed a further 16 witnesses who
know something about the Lora case because they had been imprisoned
there. The witnesses should come from Montenegro and Serbia.
The trial will continue on September 19 when witnesses from
Yugoslavia have been called to the stand.
