HRVATSKA KOSTAJNICA DEMANDS ESTABLISHMENT OF CRO'S SOVEREIGNTY TO BORDER WITH BH

HRVATSKA KOSTAJNICA, July 23 (Hina)- The Hrvatska Kostajnica town leadership on Monday evening demanded of the Croatian authorities to unconditionally and immediately establish sovereignty all the way to its border towards Bosnia-Herzegovina on the river (canal) of Uncica, the town leadership said in a statement following its session on Monday. #L# Hrvatska Kostajnica leadership demanded of the Bosnian authorities to relocate the border service to the established border between Croatia and Bosnia by the Unica river, in line with the Croatia- Bosnia border agreement and a joint statement signed by the Croatian and Yugoslav presidents and members of the Bosnian Presidency. Last weekend members of the State Border Service in BH were compelled by the U.N. to withdraw from the check point near Hrvatska Kostajnica and back off some 50 metres towards BiH. The Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina said on Monday that it opposes the further complication of the situation concerning the border between BiH and Croatia near Kostajnica and believes that the existing situation should be preserved until a final agreement is reached. The Croatian Foreign Ministry on Monday forwarded a note to the BiH Foreign Ministry in which it stresses that the Foreign Ministry believes that the conclusions issued by the BiH Foreign Ministry do not contribute to resolving this issue in keeping with signed international agreements between the two countries.
