According to a statement, released by the government's press
office, the government underlines that "the measures of the
accelerated growth are the result of long-term and intensive
consultations, led by a Vice Premier, Goran Granic, with numerous
domestic and foreign experts whom Lajos Bokros joined in April
2002."
Although it is judged that there will be no need for the permanent
engagement of Lajos Bokros in the process of the implementation of
developing measures, the project's chief co-ordinator Goran Granic
and Bokros have expressed their satisfaction with their successful
cooperation as well as their readiness for the further expert
assistance, read the statement.
The statement reminds that in February 2002 Premier Ivica Racan
launched a discussion on the achievement of higher rates of the
economic growth, and after that the government's office for the
strategic development started elaborating a system of reform
measures aimed at the accelerated growth of economy and employment
and the state administration's adjustment to the European Union's
criteria.
A proposal for a possible reshuffle in the government is a one of
many components in the comprehensive reform project for Croatian
society, according to the statement.
