DUBROVNIK MAYOR, HEAD OF OSCE MISSION TO CROATIA HOLD TALKS DUBROVNIK, July 19 (Hina) - Dubrovnik mayor Dubravka Suica on Friday received the head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Croatia,
Peter Semneby, to discuss OSCE's mandate in Croatia, the return of refugees, tourism, and cooperation between Dubrovnik and neighbouring municipalities in Bosnia and Montenegro.
DUBROVNIK, July 19 (Hina) - Dubrovnik mayor Dubravka Suica on
Friday received the head of the Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Croatia, Peter Semneby, to
discuss OSCE's mandate in Croatia, the return of refugees, tourism,
and cooperation between Dubrovnik and neighbouring municipalities
in Bosnia and Montenegro. #L#
Suica said military units were never deployed in Dubrovnik and
reminded that there was no reason for the destruction of the town in
which over 300 persons were killed.
OSCE's Mission head expressed interest in the arrival of tourists
from Montenegro and Republika Srpska. Suica said Dubrovnik wanted
tourists with greater purchasing power in order for Dubrovnik's
economy to revive. The mayor said Dubrovnik wanted to draw closer to
the European Union.
Semneby positively assessed today's talks and expressed belief the
OSCE and Dubrovnik would continue to successfully cooperate in the
future.
