LJUBLJANA, July 2 (Hina) - Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek
on Tuesday warned the Slovenia Popular Party (SLS) that it could
possibly be excluded from the current government if it continues to
block the ratification of an agreement with Croatia over the Krsko
nuclear power plant. #L#
The behaviour of MPs from the SLS who obstructed the ratification of
the agreement on the power plant by submitting the agreement to the
constitutional court for its opinion has made the work of the
government more difficult and this is in contradiction to the
coalition agreement, Drnovsek said following talks with the
president of the SLS and Agriculture Minister Franci Buti.
As reported, following the meeting an agreement was attained that
the Popular Party would in future act in harmony with the government
and so any speculation that Drnovsek may exclude that party from the
ruling coalition has been postponed for now.
