THE HAGUE, June 13 (Hina) - Former chairman of NATO's military

against former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic on Thursday
that from several meeting with Milosevic, he had concluded he was a
person who had full control in the country. #L#
He was a person who had the last say in decision making, Naumann said
at the beginning of his testimony before the Hague-based
international war crimes tribunal.
The German general described his meeting with Milosevic on three
occasions in Belgrade in 1998 and 1999 as a representative of NATO.
The goal of these visits to Belgrade was to relay a warning, that is,
NATO's request that Belgrade cease the violence against Kosovo
troops and withdraw military and police forces from the province if
it did not wish the organisation to intervene.
During the meetings, Milosevic was warned about the
disproportional use of force against civilians to which he replied
that neither the army nor police had breached Serbia's laws,
Naumann testified.
His testimony is scheduled to end on Friday.
