agreement. #L#
Slovene members of the commission did not accept a formulation on a
shell-growing farm in Piran Bay, because the joint commission on
border trade agreement did not approve it, the Slovene Agriculture
and Forestry Ministry said after the meeting.
The Croatian side had informed the sub-commission on fishery that
it intended to extend the shell farm, however, the authorities in
Ljubljana last week lodged an official protest note against what
they described a "unilateral measure".
Slovene sources said that today's meeting saw no progress regarding
fishing permits envisaged by the agreement either. Slovenia seeks a
regime of permits which would be as liberal as possible for Slovene
fishermen, including the possibility for permits to be transferred
to other persons and not be restricted exclusively on the boat.
Slovenia also opposes the proposal that the catch be registered,
i.e. weighed.
