"We are cooperating with Croatia and helping it on the multilateral
level. We would like our constructive policy to be rewarded in the
same way. Croatia's policy, that is, its credibility, are being
tested at this time," Rupel said during a lecture to law students
from Ljubljana, Belgrade and Maribor at Maribor University.
Rupel mentioned relations with Croatia with regards to cooperation
in Southeast Europe, which he said would be more pragmatic and based
on economic ties.
Elaborating his criticism against Croatian policy, Rupel mentioned
the delay in the signing of a border agreement, problems regarding
the "Krsko" nuclear power plant, and Croatia's "lobbyist act"
concerning a European Parliament report which dismissed
arbitration as a possibility in solving border issues if the two
countries fail to reach a bilateral agreement.
