Of the 1,600 kilometres of the highway, 35 percent should pass
through Croatia. Part of the route overlaps with the Split-Zagreb
highway, and that section is not disputable. However, the section
from Split to Dubrovnik has not been agreed on yet, it was said at
the seminar.
The Adriatic-Ionian highway is a corridor running along parts of
the Adriatic and Ionian coasts from Italy through Slovenia,
Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania to Greece.
The president of a state commission in charge of the construction of
the highway, Hamo Cokljat, is confident that the design of the
Split-Dubrovnik section would start by year's end.
The Split seminar was attended by experts from the countries
through which the highway is to pass.
