The international community's High Representative, Wolfgang
Petritsch, recently warned that parties whose leaders had been
replaced in line with his decisions would not be able to participate
in the elections. Last spring Petritsch replaced Jelavic from his
post as Bosnian Presidency member and banned him from taking part in
any political activities after Jelavic and his supporters declared
temporary Croat self-government in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
This means that along with Jelavic, his close associates who
advocated the establishment of Croat self-govermment will have to
leave the party as well.
