The amount paid to depositors today is six million euros lower than
the amount paid yesterday, which, the bank management said, was
proof that transactions with depositors have been normalising.
The payment of the said amount in no way affects the bank's regular
business and the bank's liquidity is not jeopardised, the statement
said.
The bank's depositors started crowding at the central bank offices
on Friday morning after having learned that the bank's main
stockjobber Eduard Nodilo was arrested on suspicion of
unconscientious dealing and overstepping his authority and causing
the bank damage of yet unknown value.
The bank's management board director Ivan Stokic said yesterday the
depositors would not suffer any damage and that the bank was highly
solvent and liquid as well as that the incurred losses would be
covered by the bank's owners.
