SERBIAN DEMOCRATS LEAVE DOS BECAUSE OF LAW ON HAGUE COOPERATION

Autor: ;LMLI;
BELGRADE, March 9 (Hina) - A decision by Vojislav Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) that it will no longer attend sessions of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) Presidency gave rise to reactions by DOS leaders, who say DSS practically left the coalition. DSS made the decision after the adoption of a bill on cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague, which brought in question the existence of the federal government. The adoption of the bill on cooperation with The Hague Tribunal "about which the coalition partner at a federal level has reservations" threatens the government's existence, DSS said on Saturday. The law on cooperation stipulates cooperation with the ICTY at the federal level, and a possibility of extraditing war crimes indictees. (hina) np
