ZAGREB, March 3 (Hina) - Five ministers of the Croatian Social
Liberal Party (HSLS), who resigned last week, will meet HSLS
president Drazen Budisa this evening, at his invitation.
"Yes, president of the party Budisa called us to meet this evening
in the HSLS headquarters," one of the HSLS minister, Andro
Vlahusic, told Croatian Television (HT).
HSLS spokesman Josko Kontic told Hina the meeting at which Budisa
should explain the decisions of the HSLS Executive Council
regarding the entire case, would take place this evening.
Apart from Health Minister Vlahusic, the meeting should be attended
by Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic, Defence Minister Jozo Rados,
Science and Technology Minister Hrvoje Kraljevic and first deputy
Prime Minister Goran Granic.
Maritime Minister Alojz Tusek, who submitted his resignation
earlier, is no longer a HSLS member.
The ministers resigned expressing disagreement with a HSLS
decision on the replacement of three ministers; Granic, Fizulic and
Tusek and the way the decision had been passed. They believe the
decision is unacceptable and politically damaging to the party.
The HSLS Executive Council decided to withdraw the three ministers
from the government saying that the HSLS leadership is not
satisfied with their work.
