ZAGREB, Feb 27 (Hina) - Croatian National Bank (HNB) vice-governor Boris Vujicic on Wednesday presented the results of a research on the efficacy of Croatian banks according to the DEA method for the period 1995-2000. The DEA method
measures the relative efficacy of banks in relation to other banks (global efficacy) and their technical efficacy (local efficacy), Vujicic said at an event organised by the Croatian Institute for Banking and Insurance (HIBO). The measuring of the banks' success according to different criteria of this method has shown that Croatian banks owned by foreign entities are more efficient than privately-owned domestic banks, which were more successful than state-owned banks.
