SPLIT, Feb 25 (Hina) - The delegations of Croatian and Italian maritime and transport ministries, customs, transport agents and chambers of commerce began two-day talks in Split on Monday on an agreement on the road transport of
shipments, and establishing license contingent for the transport of cargo and passengers between the two countries. The agreement on road transport will determine all conditions for the transport of passengers and goods between the two states. The Croatian and Italian representatives are attempting to agree on new ratios in the numbers of licenses for the transport of goods which is currently 30,000 bilateral and 2,500 border licenses. The Croatian side is especially interested in combined roll on-roll off transport and the possibility of transporters to be exempt from having to have licenses for the transport of cargo via ferries from Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik to Anocna, and vice versa.(
