ZAGREB HOSPITAL DAMAGED BY FIRE ZAGREB, Jan 10 (Hina) - The government will donate two million kuna (approx. US$242,000) to the Sisters of Mercy hospital in downtown Zagreb where a fire destroyed the roof of the maternity ward and
part of the children's ward on Monday. Zagreb police said on Thursday the fire was caused by a chemical reaction. Water dripping on a sack of lime caused inflammable surrounding material to warm up and start burning. Nobody was injured in the fire thanks to the quick evacuation of mothers, infants, and children to other wards of the Sisters of Mercy hospital, the Children's Hospital in Klaiceva Street, and the Rebro hospital.(hina) ha sb
