The commander of the Air Force, General Viktor Koprivnjak, said
that the HRZ had been established in times of war and a ban on
weapons import, as well as that it had given a great contribution to
the victory of the Croatian army in final liberation operations.
Offering her best wishes on the 12th anniversary, Defence Minister
Zeljka Antunovic said, among other things, that the HRZ had been
among the first segments of the army to start employing new
generations of staff, adding that young flyers were expected to act
professionally.
Retired General Petar Stipetic, envoy of the President of the
Republic and Armed Forces' Supreme Commander, said that during the
war some 300 pilots and numerous other staff had left the former
Yugoslav People's Army to form the HRZ.
The most deserving members of the HRZ and PZO were given letters of
commendation and awards.
