We believe it is our duty to warn about the frequently
irresponsible, even detrimental attitude towards the environment,
as well as about some concrete projects which could represent a
dangerous threat to the ecological balance in Croatia, Croatia's
bishops said.
They particularly pointed to the project of transporting Russian
oil through the Adriatic oil pipeline to the port of Omisalj and to
the world through the Adriatic Sea.
They believe that prior to the implementation of the project a
credible study on its impact on the environment should be drawn up.
