The most numerous are Bosniaks, with 605,736 returns, or 62 percent
of the entire figure. Bosnian Serbs are next, with 239,771 returns,
or 24 percent of all returnees, while Bosnian Croats, with 126,648
returns, account for 13 percent of the entire figure. The rest are
members of ethnic minorities.
A total of 48,910 refugees and displaced returned to pre-war homes
in this year's first 10 months alone. An interesting fact is that
more than 41 percent are returnees to parts of the country in which
they are the minority population. There have been 430,462 such
returnees since the signing of the Dayton accords, which ended the
war in Bosnia in late 1995.
