The two parties' separate talks with the HDZ did not address
specific names of DC and HSLS officials which might be ministers in
Sanader's cabinet, reporters were told by DC president Mate Granic
and his deputy Vesna Skare-Ozbolt, and HSLS leader Drazen Budisa
and his deputies Djurdja Adlesic and Ivan Cehok.
HDZ vice president Jadranka Kosor said a coalition was agreed in
principle with the DC and that a coalition agreement should be
signed in the next few days.
Skare-Ozbolt said the DC minister would contribute to the quality
of the new government. The DC has not discussed concrete names or
ministries which it should get, she added.
Budisa said the terms of the coalition offered by the HDZ were
acceptable but that the decision on participation in Sanader's
government would be made by the HSLS Governing Council, which
convenes on Saturday.
Asked which ministerial post might be given to his party, Budisa
said that several possibilities had been considered today.
