The prime minister called on the ministers to declare their assets
as an act of political morality at today's session of the inner
cabinet.
The public will be acquainted with possible differences in the
ministers' assets at the beginning and end of their terms of office
as soon as they start declaring assets.
A government source said yesterday current provisions did not bind
ministers to declare their assets, and there was actually no body
which would ask them to do so and collect the declarations.
Once it is constituted, the new parliament should set up a
commission in charge of property issues of state officials.
