ZAGREB, Dec 3 (Hina) - President Stjepan Mesic will attend the
opening of the first economic forum of Southeast Europe in the
southern Croatian Adriatic resort town of Cavtat on Thursday. #L#
The two-day forum, entitled "Competitors and/or partners on the
road to the European Union", will be held under the auspices of the
Chairman of Bosnia-Herzegovina's Council of Ministers, Adnan
Terzic.
The purpose of the meeting is to encourage cooperation among the
public institutions, business people and academic communities of
Southeast European countries with a view to joining the European
Union and global economic integration processes.
Participants are expected to define interests, goals and models of
mutual cooperation which would serve to governments, companies and
banks as a basis for the implementation of development policies and
business decisions.
The meeting will bring together representatives of government
institutions and business people from Albania, Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and
Montenegro, and Slovenia.
Presidents Svetozar Marovic of Serbia and Montenegro and Boris
Trajkovski of Macedonia are also expected to attend.
