The SDA today held a reception to mark the end of Ramadan Bayram and
celebrate the party's entry into parliament, where Tankovic will
represent the Bosniak, Albanian, Montenegrin, Macedonian, and
Slovene minorities.
"This is a big event for us because it is the first time in
independent Croatia that a Bosniak is entering the Croatian
parliament and the first time that we are a parliamentary party. My
election... opens new chances... for the ethnic minorities I will
represent," Tankovic said.
He added the Bosniaks were Croatian citizens who wanted a stable
government that ensured normal development for every citizen, and
that this was why the party supported Sanader.
One of the founders of the SDA, Osman Brka, said he expected Croatia
and Bosnia-Herzegovina to cooperate better, adding that
cooperation to date had been fair.
