ZAGREB, Nov 24 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said on

time. #L#
"The current situation clearly shows that the HDZ with Sanader at
the helm has the convincing majority, but the decision on the
premier-designate should come after the final results of the
election, in order to eliminate every dilemma," Mesic said on
Croatian Radio.
Sanader called in on the broadcast, saying that he had talked with
the presidents of four centre and centre-right parties as well as
with the future ethnic minority MPs, and that he was very satisfied
with the talks as well as with those he had held with Mesic last
night.
Sanader agreed one should wait for the final results of yesterday's
parliamentary ballot, but said it was already clear that the HDZ had
won the polls and that constituents wanted the HDZ to assume the
responsibility for forming the new government and to lead the state
in the next term.
