BELGRADE, Nov 24 (Hina) - Given that the Ivica Racan cabinet did not
show readiness to efficiently solve Croatian Serbs' problems, Serb
deputies might support the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) in the
new parliament, Vojislav Stanimirovic, leader of the Independent
Democratic Serb Party and newly elected MP, said on Monday. #L#
Speaking on Belgrade's Radio B92, he said the two opposing
coalitions in Croatia were the same when Serb interests were at
stake but that support to the HDZ, which won yesterday's election,
would have its advantages.
"The HDZ certainly has its sin against us, which perhaps it will
correct more easily than Ivica Racan's coalition government did,"
Stanimirovic said. "If Racan had been doing it, they would have
pointed the finger at him as a traitor of Croatia."
"However, the HDZ which sinned against our people will also have
some sort of moral obligation with regard to the return of Serbs and
of their property," Stanimirovic said.
