"The Ministry of the Interior has been notified. I can't tell you
anything else," Tomcic said at an election rally in Zagreb's
central square, adding that the HSS would not be intimidated by paid
articles in the press or threatening letters.
Party spokeswoman Marijana Petir said that Tomcic received the
threatening letter at his home address on November 17, and
announced that its contents would be made public tomorrow.
Speaking of the election campaign, Tomcic said that three types of
election platforms were on offer -- "how to return to power, how to
remain in power, and how to cherish the progress of Croatia."
"The third kind of platform is the platform of the HSS," Tomcic
said, reiterating that his party had proposed concrete steps that
should enable the country to get out of the present situation which
he said was characterised by a high unemployment rate and low
pensions and wages.
