The first on the slate is Sime Lucin.
Prime Minister Racan said he would continue to be fair in his office
in the second term, and that he would not move from a small flat into
a villa or take over companies.
The SDP offers development and higher salaries and pensions, he
said, adding that for the past year Croatia had the highest growth
rate in Europe and now had to raise living standards.
Racan said that in the next term his cabinet would continue
returning the pensions that were stolen and organise the tax system
so that those who made more paid more.
Asked after the rally to comment on Croatian Democratic Union
president Ivo Sanader's call on all Serb refugees to return to
Croatia, Racan said "Sanader was at least four years late with that,
because this government has already done it".
Asked who was to blame for the fact that Croatia was not an EU
member, Racan said "the previous government didn't do what it
should have". "With the SDP at the helm Croatia will become a
European Union member as early as 2007, which will not be possible
with other parties in power."
