candidates were physically assaulted. #L#
Condemning the incident, which it believes is given
much more attention than it deserves, the association said the
incident was not in line with the traditional hospitality of the
residents of Imotski.
The association also questioned the timing of the SDP rally, saying
that it took place at the same time when a service was held for
soldiers killed in the war, whose fellow fighter attacked the party
officials.
"Despite the fact that the incumbent authorities, led by the SDP,
have for the past four years systematically criminalised Croatian
soldiers and tried to depict them as the worst evil that could have
happened to our people, we cannot justify this act," the
association stated, dismissing claims that the incident was
organised.
